Cooper leads Aussies to semi final

The Australian team has won through to the semi-finals of the Polocrosse World Cup being played in South Africa. Captained by MWAS scholarship holder Jane Cooper the Aussies won all three of their pool games as follows: 22-11 v UK, 30-13 v Ireland and a tough 19-16 win over Zimbabwe. The team balance gave Cooper confidence going in to the tournament ““We are so lucky to have such an even team of strong, versatile players all offering individual strengths to complement each other. We have a couple of experienced well known players and some exciting newcomers who are young and explosive”.

The semi-final line ups will be Zambia versus the UK and South Africa will take on Australia, in what should be a thrilling match as the two countries have won the last three world cups between them and both will be very keen to add another.
