Insight into MWAS Scholarship holder - track and field hurdler Imogen Perejuan

Imogen went to the All Schools Championships in Perth on the 14 - 16 October and she was confident that she will medal in her pet event the 80 metre hurdles.

She has been training under local and MWAS Coach Jacko Whitby now for two years and through his innovative and specialised training has continued to improve.  Jacko the master coach of track and field sprints and jumps has introduced a number of training drills to improve Imogen’s hurdling technique with outstanding results.

Her best time over the 80m hurdles is 13.21 and they are both hoping to reduce this to a state class time of 12.80 which will put her into medal contention.

Imogen was competing in the 200m hurdles and 200m flat at the championships and with her obvious endurance qualities together with a good turn of speed she could well be suited to the 400m hurdles in the coming years.

If Imogen sticks to her training regime with Coach Jacko Whitby and continues to improve the sky is the limit for her and we all wish her well at the Championships later this month.
